Democrat senator Herb Kohl will vacate the seat of Wisconsin, creating interest in who will contest the seat next year.

Sullivan made his own press statement on the matter after receiving substantial “unsolicited support”.

He is focused on completing the sale of Bucyrus, and only hinted at future opportunities.

"When this deal is consummated in the near future, I will weigh all my options,” Sullivan said according to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.

“I have a deep commitment to this community, and I look forward to being involved in the future challenges and opportunities at the local, state and national level."
