Peabody director slices stock

PEABODY Energy director William James sold 3312 shares of the stock on the open market on Friday, March 14.

The stock was sold at an average price of $US15.47 ($A17.03), for a total transaction of about $51,000. Following the sale James owns 23,574 shares at a value of approximately $360,000.

Peabody traded up 1.68% on Monday, reaching $15.74. The stock had a trading volume of 3,937,741 shares.

Peabody has been the focus of numerous financial reports this year.

Ned Davis Research analysts upgraded shares of Peabody Energy from a “sell” rating to a “neutral” in a research note on February 18.

Jefferies Group analysts cut their price target on Peabody shares from $28 to $25 on January 31.

One research analyst rated the stock with a sell rating, six issued a hold rating and 10 assigned a buy rating to the company’s stock.

The stock has an average rating of buy and an average target price of $24.59.
