The new $A16 million facility will consolidate the activities of 260 DBT employees currently working at the company’s existing facilities at Argenton and Hexham.
The facility will incorporate the Customer Service Centre function for NSW and for capital equipment manufacturing.
DBT said it expected significant gains in productivity and efficiency as a result of centralised operations, located near major coal operations in NSW and Queensland.
The site provides space for two extra workshop bays, with DBTA saying it planned to expand local manufacturing of its diesel vehicles to meet growing demand.
The company said it expected its workforce to expand from 260 to 310 over the next 18 months.
