Shell sale update

Royal Dutch/Shell has finalised a shortlist of potential buyers of its US$1.5 billion international coal assets.

"The bids have been finalised and the company is on track for selection of the buyer by mid-year," a Shell Australia spokesman said.

Anglo, British miner Billiton Plc and German companies RAG International and RWE AG, are expected to have lodged bids for the mainly Australian assets.
