Doheny replaces incumbent Michael W Sutherlin who will succeed John Hanson as president and CEO of Joy Global when Hanson retires.
The company said the transition between Doheny and Sutherlin would be efficient and seamless. Sutherlin will retain day-to-day operational responsibility while Doheny becomes assimilated into the business.
For the past 20 years Doheny has worked for Ingersoll-Rand Company and has held a variety of senior executive positions, most recently as president of Industrial Technologies. He holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Cornell University and a Masters degree in Management from Purdue University.
