Air Springs launches

SYDNEY-based pneumatic actuation, isolation and ride specialist, Air Springs Supply, has launched an online resource giving engineers, specifiers, designers and operations managers across diverse industries, including coal, access to new product information and real life usage scenarios.

Anthony Barich

The company supplies air springs and associated pneumatic technology for industrial actuation and isolation and for air suspension for heavy truck, bus, rail and hard-working light-to-medium vehicle applications.

Air springs are used throughout the coal mining industry, with existing and suitable applications ranging from belt scrapers and conveyor actuation, web tensioning and braking and isolation of vibrating screens, through to suspensions of heavy coal trucks, lighter contractor vehicles and even splitting of draglines for maintenance.

One of the major sections of the new website is working vehicle suspension – ranging from Firestone airbags for heavy vehicles through to supplementary air suspension systems for 4WD and work vehicles, as well as towing and recreational vehicles.

Since pioneering air spring technology for the transportation industry in the late 1930s, the company says Firestone has led the market in expansion and innovation. Firestone Airide air springs are designed to meet the demands of two of the world’s toughest industries – mining and construction.
