Everett has more than 40 years of board and management experience in the resources and construction industries, holding senior positions with both publicly listed and private companies, as well as government development boards, MetroCoal acting chairman Lindsay Ward says.
“His proven track record in bringing major resource projects to production will be a significant advantage for MetroCoal with our key projects Bundi and Columboola on track for initial development,” he said.
“We look forward to Mr Everett working with the board and management of MetroCoal to maximise shareholder value from the company’s Surat Basin coal resources.”
Everett is currently also chairman of Global Resources Corporation and IronRidge Resources and has also served as chairman of Australian Solomons Gold, JMS Engineering/JJ McDonald & Sons and BeMaX Resources as well as a director of Queensland Coal Mine Management.
“On behalf of the MetroCoal board I would like to again thank outgoing chairman David Barwick, who made an outstanding contribution as company chairman,” Ward said.
Barwick’s retirement also means that only two MetroCoal directors now also serve on the board of its major shareholder, Metallica Minerals.
