The conference aims to bring together engineers with interests in "Wining and Mining; Engineering the Future" and share technical issues and professional experiences.

Of particular interest to the longwall fraternity will be a presentation on the effects of longwall mine subsidence and a geotechnical assessment of potential underground mining impacts for a proposed urban development project in Cessnock, New South Wales.

Roche Mining operations manager Lindsay Crutch will also make a keynote presentation on “More than mining – rehabilitation as an integral process”
