Change on the way for Peabody

MISSOURI producer Peabody said Friday it is expanding and making a series of changes to its personnel across the country.

Staff Reporter

It has first named Walter Scheller III senior vice-president and group executive of Colorado operations under group vice-president of western operations Kemal Williamson. Scheller will manage daily operational activities and examine growth opportunities for the Twentymile operation and its associated facilities.

A graduate of Duquesne University School of Law and the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, he has served as Peabody’s senior vice-president of strategic operations since last year. Scheller is joined in the Colorado operations sector by Larry Ellgen, who has been appointed group controller.

Charles Meintjes is the producer’s new senior vice-president of operations improvement, the seat vacated by Scheller, and will report to executive vice-president and chief operating officer Eric Ford. With a South African education and strong industry background, Meintjes will be responsible for the company’s continuous improvement projects and standard procedure implementation.

Peabody also made several other staff changes, highlighted by the following:

Lina Young – senior vice-president of marketing commercial services;

Lisa Cantwell – director of contract management;

Robert Reilly – senior vice-president of business and resource development (reporting to chief financial officer Richard Navarre);

Walter Hawkins – senior vice-president and treasurer (also reporting to Navarre);

Michael Crews – vice-president of operational planning (reporting to executive vice-president and chief operating officer Eric Ford);

Bradley Phillips – vice-president of financial planning and analysis (also reporting to Navarre); and
