Two drill rigs are working at the site on a 16,600m drilling program designed to upgrade half the deposit from indicated to measured resources. The initial 600 million tonne target at Mmamantswe was doubled in February this year.

Managing director Lindsay Reed said the resource estimate affirmed the project as a low strip ratio openpit thermal coal deposit, with the potential to supply up to 6Mt per annum.

The drilling program is expected to finish at the end of August, with final coal quality test results set for the end of October.
