Jury pleased with Waterberg

RESOURCE Generation managing director Paul Jury says last week’s resource upgrade and reserve delineation at the Waterberg #1 project in South Africa is a major step for the junior coal explorer.

The company was able to upgrade the resource following a 98-hole drilling program and preliminary mine plan.

The coal reserve area, which includes 302 million tonnes of saleable coal, represents 43% of the total identified area.

The resource area, which includes 1.1 billion tonnes of indicated resources, or 569Mt with shale discounted, makes up the remaining 57%.

The mineable reserves in the Waterberg #1 tenement contain 566Mt of probable and proven run-of-mine coal.

The inferred resource of the Waterberg #2 and #3 tenements is 123Mt.

Jury told Boardroom Radio the saleable coal of 302Mt was a “considerable figure in anyone’s language”

He said the company was continuing drilling, focusing on the areas adjoining Waterberg #1.
