Further MIM management changes

Staff Reporter

The departure of Nick Stump, the CEO of MIM Holdings was announced at the company's annual general meeting on October, 31. MIM said Stump would retire in March next year, to be succeeded by Vince Gauci. Gauci joined MIM in 1995 as head of the mining division and is credited with helping turn around the Queensland coal operations.

A management reorganisation in Brisbane-based MIM's coal operations will see a change in place by the first week of November.

In September, MIM announced the appointment of Brian MacDonald as executive general manager of coal operations in central Queensland. MacDonald formerly worked with MIM through his previous role with Thiess Contractors.

Other changes include Peter Lynch (currently general manager at Oaky Creek) who moves to corporate office in Brisbane to take up the position of general manager operations support. Lynch is replaced by Mike Ryan (currently general manager Newlands-Collinsville-Abbot Point). John Clark replaces Ryan at Newlands.

Mike Menzies remains executive general manager mining with responsibility for all operations, except coal and Mt Isa.
