With record numbers of coal leaders and industry professionals attending (current estimates exceed 6500), it is no wonder the Bluefield Chamber of Commerce has a waiting list for exhibit space at the show. More than 200 booths will blanket the inside and outside of the Armory grounds, showcasing the newest, most innovative equipment, services and technology.

“The Bluefield Coal show plays a critical role in what others have termed ‘The Resurgence of Coal’. Our collective prospects are far brighter today than they have been in decades,” said National Mining Association president Jack Gerard.

Several industry leaders will be highlighted in 10 seminars on - the first two days of the show, beginning at 3pm each day, covering topics such as transportation, gasification and future challenges for the industry. A panel discussion focusing on mountaintop removal projects will also be held on Thursday.

“The line-up is designed with a wide variety of topics in order to meet the interests of different companies and individuals,” said show committee chair Dave Langford. “It gives exhibitors and guests the chance to enhance their understanding of certain subjects and increase awareness about issues pertaining to the industry.”

Join International Longwall News as we turn the spotlight on some of the best and brightest the show has to offer, beginning with Longwall Associates and Richwood, in the coming weeks before this leading-edge industry event.
