Gas explosion in China

THE latest accident in China’s coal mining sector killed 16 miners on Friday.

A gas explosion at the Inner Mongolia mine in Wuhai killed the miners while three were rescued.

The mine is run by Bayinsai Coal Tar Company but does not have a safety license, according to Xinhua Net.

The explosion was blamed on gas from the coal bed seeping into active workings.
