Coffey and TIP have worked closely on a number of major projects. The staff and principals of TIP will be integrated into Coffey Mining, which is experiencing rapid growth from the mining boom in Australia.

“This acquisition is another key building block for Coffey Mining, increasing our depth of experience and capacity in the mining engineering discipline. It provides a significant platform on which to build our mining team in Queensland,” said Coffey mining chief operations officer Dan O’Toole.

“TIP directors have been very active in the education and training of young mining professionals through their involvement with the University of Queensland. Coffey Mining is aware of how important these types of activities are in order to address the mining industry skills shortage and we look to continue and strengthen this relationship."

TIP has been providing mining engineering services since 1985 and has undertaken major bankable feasibility studies and provided consulting support to mining operations throughout Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“I am delighted to be part of the larger, more diverse specialist business of Coffey Mining, which is growing so successfully in Australia and internationally. This will provide our staff with increased opportunities to expand their capabilities, by working on a broader range of projects and locations,” said TIP managing director Dr Brian White.
