GOVERNOR Edward G Rendell said yesterday that six companies, including KH Controls, which manufactures power supply for automation controls on longwall mining systems, will benefit from nearly $9 million in state investments that will help the businesses expand.

Sponsored by the Indiana County Development Corporation, KH Controls will receive a $US1,492,800 loan to build a new facility to replace the three buildings the company currently uses.

The new facility will require five extra jobs over three years and all 49 employees will transfer to the new 32,500 square foot facility.

“This new facility will give us new room for parking and our employees, so we'll be able to go after bigger orders as a result of having more manufacturing capacity,” KH Controls president Kevin Huczko said.

The company's products include lighting for longwall mining equipment and a unit that powers headlights for mobile mining equipment.

“All across Pennsylvania, we're making strategic investments in our communities, our companies and our workforce," Governor Rendell said.

“Pennsylvania's job count is now 139,300 higher than January 2003, which is great news for the state."
