Peters’ appointment will see him head up the company’s international Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) organisation.

He will also ensure all projects, consultants, partners and contractors have safety and loss-prevention programs in place.

"Andy’s extensive experience in advancing a culture of safety and enabling processes that ensure safe work environments will greatly support our ongoing efforts to improve safety performance” AECOM chairman and chief executive officer John Dionisio said.

"We are committed to becoming the SH&E leader in our industry and this appointment will further enable our clients to address their evolving and complex infrastructure challenges."

Peters previously served as vice-president of SH&E at Parsons Corporation. His 35-year career in managing direct hire and contractor workforces includes experience in transportation, environmental remediation, pipeline, manufacturing, water and wastewater treatment plants, energy, building, tunneling and large government projects.
