NRW bags $60M Middlemount contract

AN NRW Holdings subsidiary has won a three-year contract for drilling and blasting operations at the Middlemount mine in Queensland shared by Peabody Energy and Yancoal Australia.

The contract for NRW’s Action Drill and Blast is estimated to be worth $60 million over the three years.

The Middlemount open cut mine had saleable coal production of 996,000 tonnes in the September quarter, with Yancoal saying the switch to using an owner-operator model in June had delivered significant benefits.
