Siegel passes the baton

WESTERN bituminous coal producer Bowie Resource Partners has appointed BHP Energy Coal South Africa president Manie Dreyer as its CEO, to replace John Siegel who is retiring.

Siegel said the company had conducted a six-month international search for the new CEO, with more than 50 candidates considered.

“Manie’s 21 years of experience with BHP Billiton, across all aspects of their global coal activities, will hold him in good stead as he works to solidify and expand our domestic base business,” Siegel said.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Bowie is the largest producer of Western bituminous coal in the US and is the only producer with Western US export terminal capacity.
