RST develops new dust suppressant

REYNOLDS Soil Technologies (RST) has released its Generation 2 heavy water dynamic micro-polymer additive which functions as a dust suppressant, water extender, compaction aid and veneering agent.

Incorporating RST’s latest micro polymer technology, the new product requires less additives and has three times more coverage than its predecessor, named heavy water dynamic, which has now been super boosted.

RST’s micro polymer technology allows the application rate of Generation 2 solution to be adjusted as necessary compacting unsealed road surfaces, seal open source emissions and stock piles, minimise sediment loss from open areas and roads while further reducing water evaporation.

Generation 2 id suitable for use in the mining, construction and civil engineering sectors and can reduce water usage by about half per square metre, it said.

RST operation and technical director David Handel said the company developed application machinery to complement Generation 2 product for maximum results.

“The Generation 2 solution and ‘dose buddy’ are leading-edge products that will revolutionise dust suppression treatments internationally because they simplify the whole process,” Handel said.

“Generation 2 requires less additive and has greater coverage which means it is highly cost effective and greatly reduces the amount of time spent on each treatment.

“Not only does it save our clients time and money, but it also promotes an environmentally sustainable future with reduced additive requirements and the solution itself being environmentally safe.

“By using ‘dose buddy’, the application process is simplified further because it minimises the chance of dosage errors and waste, it’s safer because it sits on the back of the water cart and its accessibility reduces preparation time, adding to the overall cost effectiveness of the process.”
