Cockatoo promotes manager to executive role

Previous company secretary Lee O’Dwyer, a chartered accountant who started in that role in 2011, was recently made redundant along with chief financial officer David Smith and chief operating officer David Vink, the news announced on May 20.

Yesterday Cockatoo said Lackner’s appointment was effective immediately.

Lackner has been with Cockatoo since October 2012.

The senior management moves follow the appointment of former Macarthur Coal veteran Peter Kane as Cockatoo’s CEO in April.

Cockatoo was previously led by managing director Andrew Lawson, with his job made redundant following a share-diluting, $125 million recapitalisation program which kept it in business.

Cockatoo has not yet announced any replacements for the CFO or COO roles.
