Under the agreement, Mobiform will provide parts of its Status Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) custom development and graphic designed to enhance monitoring of Joy-developed equipment.
"We look forward to providing Joy with technology that will help reduce costs and downtime while improving machine availability and utilization," Mobiform chief executive Ron DeSerranno said.
In addition to mining, Mobiform – which specializes in visualization of real-time data – also deploys its products in the manufacturing, power and utilities, transportation, petrochemical and heat/ventilation/air-conditioning fields.
Joy inked another technological partnership in 2009 with Matrix Design Group for the development and distribution of continuous miner proximity protection systems.
That agreement gave Joy the rights for sales, installation and service of the systems while collaborating with the Kentucky supplier on additional development and efforts to continually refine the system.
