Consol posts steady performance for April

US MINER Consol Energy produced 6.4 million tons for the month of April.

Consol reported that most mines were producing normally. Mine 84, although still producing at lower than normal levels, showed improvement Consol said. Robinson Run Mine production was below forecast because of equipment problems with the longwall scheduled to be replaced during the current quarter.

Northern Appalachia - 4.6 million tons

Central Appalachia - 1.3 million tons

Midwest/West - 500,000 tons

Northern Appalachia includes production from the following mines: Mine 84, Bailey, Enlow Fork, Mahoning Valley, Shoemaker, McElroy, Humphrey, Dilworth, Blacksville #2, Loveridge and Robinson Run. Central Appalachia includes production from the following mines: Buchanan, VP#8, Amonate, Jones Fork and Mill Creek. Midwest/West includes production from the following mines: Rend Lake, Cardinal River, and Line Creek. Cardinal River and Line Creek are joint ventures. Tons reported are CONSOL Energy's portion.
