Czech cans privatisation

LACK of investor interest had forced the Czech government to cancel the privatisation of coal producer Severoceske Doly.

Trade and Industry Minister Milan Urban told Agence France Presse no one had offered a price for the government's 55.4% stake that matched the market value.

Three bids from the Appian Group, J and T and Penta had been received.

Severoceske Doly produces about 40% of the country’s brown coal.
