CHINA will host the International Conference on Mine Hazards Prevention and Control during October this year and has called for papers.

The conference, being organised by Shandong University of Science and Technology and Shandong Management Bureau of Coal Industry, will be held August 17-19 in Qingdao.

Conference topics will cover mine pressure and ground control; mine fire, dust and gas explosion control; prevention and control of mine water hazards; mine subsidence control and environment protection; mine safety monitoring and control technology; and engineering management of mine safety.

Abstracts are due before March 10 and the major language of the conference will be English.
