All paper abstracts, limited to 300 words, are due to conference contact Keith Wallace by the deadline of August 1, 2007.

“The symposium will offer an excellent opportunity for mine ventilation experts, professionals and students to gather for a valuable exchange of information and professional development,” said the organisers.

The symposium itself is scheduled for June 9-11, 2008 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada. MVS confirmed that detailed program information would be made available to interested parties later this year.

The topics the conference convenors are seeking in the incoming abstracts are varied and include ventilation planning and survey techniques, diesel emissions/control, heat/humidity, stoppings and seals, numerical modelling, gases, leakage and gob flows, education, occupational health and others.

MVS has established a direct email line for submission of abstracts: 12thsymposium@mvsengineering.com. For any questions about the conference itself, Dr Pierre Mousset-Jones is taking enquiries at mousset@unr.edu or on the web at www.unr.edu/ventsymp2008.
