INFRASTRUCTURE, safety and housing are all on the agenda for the upcoming Queensland Coal conference, where industry leaders will come together to discuss the most pressing issues currently facing Australia's coal industry.

Speakers for the two-day conference include Macarthur Coal director Ken Talbot, Transcoal director Faith Dempsey and Queensland Ports Corporation chief executive Brad Fish.

Topics to be covered at the conference include infrastructure challenges, internal logistics, safety hazards and injury/accident reductions, equipment management and asset maintenance, labour and equipment shortages, social housing issues and the impacts of rising coal prices.

Queensland Coal 2008 will be held on June 16 and 17 at the Mercure Hotel in Brisbane.
