The company is anticipating the facility, which will focus on its steel products, to be in operation by next US spring.
“Our goal is for this center to operate as a true think tank for our industry – a place where the most experienced and forward-thinking scientists and mining technology specialists will turn ideas into real-world solutions,” Minova Americas president Bruce Cassidy said.
“We expect this to be a place devoted to developing solutions not just for today’s problems but for the unforeseen problems of tomorrow … [and] identify and solve challenges before they have a chance to turn into problems.”
Earlier this year, Minova launched a comprehensive technology commitment to support development of products that enhance productivity while supporting mine safety. It cited products such as its integrated head cable bolt, low-profile cable head and quick-set Lokset resin cartridges as evidence of its R&D progress over the last several decades.
“We are excited to have the privilege of providing Minova customers with the most advanced R&D center our industry will have to offer,” Cassidy said.
