CENTENNIAL Coal non-executive director Neville Sneddon resigned yesterday to pursue “other interests”, which are likely to involve his role as chairman for promising newcomer Stanmore Coal.

Sneddon has served as a Centennial director for the past two years and tendered his resignation with immediate effect.

Stanmore Coal listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in December, closing its first day of trading at 40c, double the issue price of 20c, and closing at 78c yesterday.

The junior plans to drill its Mackenzie River and New Cambria projects in Queensland’s Bowen Basin in the next few months.

Sneddon served as acting chief executive for Anglo Coal Australia in 2007 before Seamus French was appointed CEO.
