The switchboard was custom manufactured for a Lithgow colliery for their 11kV Pitbottom Distribution project to meet the requirements of the NSW Department of Primary Industries.

The switchboard has been tested to Annex A of AS62271.200 and has a certified short-time fault current withstand rating of 25 kiloamps for 1 second at 11kV and certified internalarc fault protection rating of 12kA for 1 second at 11kV.

Remote operation of switching function, assessable to a SIL2 safety level, is incorporated for increased operator safety as well as duplicated mechanical and electrical interlocks to ensure safe

isolation switching and visible earthing.

The fault driven over current protection system installed in the switchboard is certified to IEC 60255 ensuring safe clearance under severe short-circuit conditions often encountered in underground applications.

Other features of the switchboard include real time load flow monitoring; 10kA self-revealing lightning surge protection; and logging and recording of diagnostics prior, during and following a fault clearance on a per-cycle basis to allow detailed analysis of fault events.

The unit is also manufactured to suit limiting underground height dimensions.

ATF Mining Electrics also offers a range of flameproof enclosures for mining machinery including continuous miners, shuttle cars, breaker feeds, drill rigs and pump stations.
