Wollongong Coal defends late announcement of investigation

WOLLONGONG Coal did not believe an investigation by the New South Wales Department of Industry and Investment into whether it was fit to hold a mining licence would have a material effect on the price or value of its shares, it told the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
