Australian black coal resources increase 4%

THE estimate of Australia’s in situ economic demonstrated resources of black coal was revised upward to 85,753 million tonnes in 2016, an increase of almost 3% from the previous year, according to the Australia’s Identified Mineral Resources 2017.

Of this, 70,927Mt is considered to be recoverable, which is a 4% increase from 2015, the report states. It says Australia also has 104,151Mt of inferred resources with 81,864t estimated to be recoverable....
