PROBLEMS at the Narrabri underground mine have led Whitehaven Coal to cut its expectations for saleable coal production in the 2018 financial year to between 20.5 million tonnes and 21Mt.
Maules Creek production was up on the prior corresponding period.
It had been expecting to produce between 22Mt and 23Mt.
Saleable coal production totalled 5Mt in the December quarter and 10.9Mt for the first half of the year.
