C & A Cutter Head breaks into Mexican market

SHEARER drum manufacturer C & A Cutter Head delivered its first set of custom-made drums to Mexico after signing a supply contract with Grupo Acerero Del Norte's Micare No. 6 Mine.

Staff Reporter

The adverse conditions of the mine - with a seam height of 1.8 - 2.2m and a high reject rock content - create a hostile environment for the longwall that was taken into account by C & A Cutter Head when designing the tailor-made drums.

The delivery of the four-start, two bit-per-line lacing shearer drums have been installed at the main operation incorporated with C & A Cutter Head's CA-100 blocks and sleeves.
