MINE Safety New South Wales has warned coal operators of the potential hazards associated with dozers on coal stockpiles after a dangerous incident at a NSW mine in which a dozer slid down the stockpile sideways approximately 2.5m.
The run of mine coal stockpile was showing signs of spontaneous combustion.
A dozer was being used to push coal and the operator drove the dozer to the top of the stockpile.

The crushed cabin jammed the door closed and required the dozer operator to kick out a side window.
