Applications opened in late September and close on October 14.
Anglo American metallurgical coal business CEO Tyler Mitchelson said successful applicants would join the organisation as trainee underground miners and gain a Certificate II in Underground Coal Mining Operations over two years.
The company developed the program and successfully secured a decision with the Fair Work Commission to allow it to specifically target women in recruitment advertising earlier this year.
"This program is the first of its kind of a Queensland underground coal mine and a critical step toward creating a more inclusive environment for women in underground coal mining," Mitchelson said.
