South32 is considering further mining within Area 3C, however, due to the geological constraints, investigations are still ongoing to prove up potential longwall plans.

Dendrobium Mine general manager Neville McAlary told a community update that it had suffered delays due to power outages from rainfall in February and several mechanical breakdowns.
