Rain washes out gold hopes

AUSTRALIAN gold production was down 8% or six tonnes in the March quarter compared to the December quarter 2016, at 71.5t of gold, with Western Australia’s heavy rain and the effects of Tropical Cyclone Debbie on the east coast putting a damper on operations across the country.
