THE sector-wide transformational changes needed by the Australian resources industry to unlock a potential $10 billion in value to the national economy must involve innovative small and medium enterprises in the supply chain, according to new industry report.

NERA CEO Miranda Taylor said despite the challenges, Australia’s energy resources sector remains one of the principal sources of revenue underpinning the nation’s economy and directly employing approximately 85,900 full time workers.

National Energy Resources Australia, who commissioned the report, said it is committed to working with these innovators to ensure the energy resources sector is agile, robust and globally competitive.
