New Century Resources' inaugural 10,000 tonne cargo was piped along a 304km pipeline to the port of Karumba, where it was then loaded onto transshipment vessel Wunma, for delivery to the ship carrying the cargo to one of the largest smelters in China.
The first shipment has good commercial terms attached, which include no penalty for lead and just an immaterial penalty for silica.
Shipping comes just 15-months after listing, which was a milestone, according to New Century managing director Patrick Walta.
He said the viability of the operation's entire logistics chain from hydraulic mining to tailings reprocessing, slurry pipeline operations, port operations and concentrate transhipment had been demonstrated.
