Local media outlet KJRH said late Tuesday the victim, whose name was not released, was apparently run over by the rail car on coal yard property in Coffeyville, in southeast Kansas near the Oklahoma and Missouri borders.

The worker was an employee of Watco Transportation Services, based in nearby Pittsburg.

Coffeyville Police told the station it was looking into the incident.

Watco officials did not release any public statement Tuesday afternoon.
