US ENERGY-related carbon dioxide emissions in 2016 totaled 5170 million tonnes, 1.7% below their 2015 levels, after dropping 2.7% between 2014 and 2015 due to lower coal use for power generation, according to figures supplied by the US Energy Information Administration.
