THE Isaac Regional Council in Queensland may be guilty of a conflict of interest under a $1.15 million deal in which Indian giant Adani is bankrolling four council staff members who are assessing the company’s proposed $10.5 billion Carmichael mine complex.

Adani is paying four members of the Isaac Regional Council staff.

Transparency International Australia described the situation as unprecedented and said it called into question the council's decisions regarding the mine.
