Fatality at Maules Creek CHPP

THE NEW South Wales Resources Regulator has started an investigation into the death of a contract worker found unconscious at Whitehaven Coal’s Maules Creek coal handling and processing plant on May 16.

The worker was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital for treatment but died on May 18.

 

The investigation will focus on determining whether or not the death was work-related.

 

"As the investigation is underway, no further information is available at this time," the regulator said.
