PRRA re-enters Pike River

ON MAY 21 experts from the Pike River Recovery Agency breached the 30m seal at the Pike River mine in New Zealand and successfully re-entered the drift more than eight years after 29 men perished in explosions at the mine.

 The 2.3km Pike River coal mine drift tunnel had been sealed 30m from the portal entrance since November 2016.
