Qld mining jobs growth goes against state trend

THE coal and resources sector can help put downward pressure on Queensland’s increasing unemployment rate in both Brisbane and in regional areas of the state as more than 1300 high paying jobs in the industry remain unfilled.

Queensland Resources Council CEO Ian Macfarlane said the state's trend unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 6.3% - a two-year high - however, coal mining regional areas boasted higher employment levels....
