THE Queensland government is to create a category of offence aimed at stopping dangerous devices being used by extremists to shut down public thoroughfares and infrastructure in a bid to crackdown on protestors that disrupt the transport of minerals and commodities.

These devices are the ones protestors use to lock themselves on to pieces of equipment or infrastructure.

This offence will make it illegal to possess such devices.
