THE NEW South Wales coal mining industry – which until recently escaped the scourge of black lung disease experienced in Queensland – now has three possible cases of the disease.

NSW Resources Regulator chief inspector Garvin Burns said all three workers were detected through health surveillance screening under the new NSW Work Health and Safety framework.
