AN ATTEMPT by a former Downer EDI Mining worker for an appeal to gain more compensation for being unfairly dismissed has been turned down by the Fair Work Commission.

The worker, Ian Birchley, sought unfair dismissal remedy under section 394 of the FW Act in respect of his dismissal from his job with Downer EDI Mining on or around October 15 2018.
