Moranbah North roof collapse to cost Anglo US$200M in earnings

THE roof collapse at Anglo American’s Moranbah North mine in January will shave off about US$200 million in earnings for the company, according to Anglo American finance director Stephen Pearce.

Pearce told an analysts' conference that the company had adjusted its guidance for met coal production accordingly.

"We had a roof collapse at Moranbah in January," he said.
